Would like to adjust my own recipes to be Keto friendly

I have an Indian Fry Bread recipe that I would like to adjust to be Keto friendly.  However, I do not know how to substitute the “flour”.  I use the coconut flour and made a loaf of bread yesterday, but I really do not like the “eggy” taste it has.  It’s ok, and I will eat it, but I really don’t care for it.  Anyway, I would like to adjust my fry bread recipe to eat with the Native American chili I make as well as other things I eat it with.  Thanks.

Hi Pam,

Have you tried Almond flour instead of Coconut?

There are some great recipes for fat head dough using mozzarella cheese which can be made for Pizza base to wraps, or there are some good recipes for Keto wraps using ground flax seed.

Hope this helps

No, I haven’t tried Almond flour….yet. Last time I was at the Gro. they were out of it, so am planning on getting some next time I go. Thanks for your answer.

How about using psyllium husk?

No, I haven’t tried that. When I found out it was the ingredient in Metamucil, I backed away from even trying it. It’s a “me” thing. I have read several recipes using Coconut flour to add that, and, when I was first starting this diet, I looked for it but couldn’t find it. I’m hoping to try the fat head recipe next time I get my Social Security check. Thanks for your suggestion. I appreciate it.
