Why am I not losing?
I had a gastric sleeve 3 years ago and lost 75 pounds. I have gained 10 back plus I didn’t lose down to my goal weight. I have been trying to lose with Keto diet but I’m not losing or gaining. I also do not have a gallbladder . Any suggestions are welcomed. My coworker, a male, is just melting away . He even drinks sweet tea . Go figure.

Men lose faster. It is just they way it is. As a woman, your age and whether you are pre-menopausal , menopausal, or post-menopausal also play a factor in how fast you lose weight. My husband and I started eating keto on Jan2. 2017. I am 53 years old and post menopausal, my husband is 45. He has lost 74 lbs and I have lost 52 lbs in the same amount of time. He goes off plan once in a while and I rarely do. I think the thing that has brought both of us the success we have had is adding in Intermittent Fasting.
We both eat one meal a day and maybe another snack and stay in a 4 to 6 hour eating window. If I am really hungry and not just in a snacky mood I eat something. Keep your carbs below 20, eat fatty pieces of meat and non starchy vegetables (steamed with butter, or a oil based salad dressing) and give your body time. Also the amount of and how you handle stress can keep you from losing even if you eat keto. I have had a couple of stressful episodes and definitely stalled both times even though I did not go off plan. I did eat more, because when the stress kicked me out of ketosis, I was hungrier than normal. Also I have had so many non scale changes that I am now focusing on how much better I feel and letting the scale do what it does now. I hope there is some nugget of help in here somewhere. Blessings!!

- Thanks so much. I can relate to the stress. I’m post menopausal. I’m also attending school and work evenings.

Talk to your doc about the gallbladder issue. The whole point of the gallbladder is to store and concentrate the bile which is specifically needed to break down animal fat and protein. Your body still produces bile without a gallbladder but it has no place to store it and so it is not as concentrated.
It is frustrating how it seems to be so much easier for the guys isn’t it? Unfortunately women are genetically pre-programmed to store any excess in times of plenty so that, when the lean times of winter come, we will have a little extra in case we are “eating for two”. The problem about modern grocery store is that it is always a time of plenty and the winter/famine never happens. I agree with lisafern about IFing but run that by your gallbladder doc as well. Due to your missing part, you may need to eat more frequently in smaller quantities.
