Setting Macros & Tracking Food
I just found this forum and was particularly interested to read the “Consume 70% Fat” thread. So are you saying to ignore the calories and focus on the macro percentages? I have been in ketosis (testing blood) at a 4 or 5 but feel like I’ve overeaten some days in order to reach fat goal.
I am using My Fitness Pal to track my food. It asks you to set a goal of total calories, macro percentages (but only in increments of 5),and then it shows a breakdown in grams. Am struggling with making this work. I want to lower calories and adjust my percentages and grams close to where I want. I am trying to lose weight.
I do check the pie chart on home page to see where I stand percentage wise on carb, fat, protein. I want to increase carbs because I Don’t feel like I’m eating enough vegetables.
Is there a better tracking program that oriented toward Keto? Thanks!

In MFP you can set your calorie goal to any value and your macro splits in steps of 5% in the free version, so you can dial in 1340 calories at 70F / 25P / 5F and it will compare your intake with those goals.
If you want more veg then 65 / 25 / 10 or 70 / 20 / 10 should work.
If you eat too much protein and then try to get the % right by eating more fat then you’re likely to exceed the calorie goal.

I use the KetoDiet app which I find brilliant! It costs but to me was worth every penny (or cent if you’re in the States lol).
