My current favorite is the Vega Protein & Greens – pea/plant based protein powder (vanilla).

I can’t do: whey (or bovine based) powders and I stay away from soy. I don’t know if their chocolate, or berry, version is any good; I have not tried them. I stick with the vanilla since it’s just more versatile. I do notice when it’s in my smoothies…but I also notice when it’s not (if that makes sense?). It gives a thick consistency and overall depth but, yes, there is that ‘protein powder-ness’ to it. I just don’t think you can get away from that texture, ever… when you are using a ‘protein powder’. It’s not a bad thing, it’s a: you get used to it thing. With that said, it’s one of the better tasting ones I have tried and have used on a consistent basis.

Overall, this one seems to be pretty good: taste, texture, and it’s presence in my gut. I digest it fine and has not given me any reactions. I also am not consuming it everyday. I put it in my smoothies on days I lift or any exercise that’s more demanding than Pilates.

Bone broth: I make and consume my own. Collagen: I put this is my ‘bulletproof’ coffee.

Good luck in your protein powder search! It can be tough, and sometimes expensive, finding one you like.

I just found out I have a whey allergy and am struggling to get enough protein now, so this is super helpful, thank you!

There is a brand called Ancient Nutrition that makes several flavors of protein powder drinks that are bone broth based, basically collagen with different flavors, some sweet and some savory.
