Will fiber supplements make my carbs net carbs?
I was told to subtract fiber from total carbs to get net carbs. When eating a higher carb item can I supplement fiber intake with the meal to achieve the same result? How many grams of supplemented fiber would it take to reduce 1 carb?

Hi Carolyn,
I do not believe this would accomplish the same results. Although some bars or “keto foods” may have a lot of fiber to get the net carbs down, since it is added then it doesn’t process in the body the same way. The natural fiber in fruits and veggies process differently. I would keep your total carbs low so that you know you won’t be going over on your carbs. Sticking to single ingredient foods like veggies and meat will keep you feeling great without going over on the carbs! 🙂 Good luck!
