Can a Vegan do a Keto Diet?
Two main questions one I really don’t like coconut oil and I don’t like cooking with coconut oil and most of your recipes rely on coconut oil what to do? Second question how does a vegan survive and thrive it seems most of the keto diet is animal food

Hey Dr. Kathryn! I personally love cooking with Avocado oil! It has a great subtle taste and a high flash point. If you are going to make fat bombs you can use another fatty base such as butter (if you are not dairy sensitive) or ghee.
If you have a vegan client, they CAN do a ketogenic diet however it is more difficult. They would need to eat more protein sources that are from vegetables and use dairy alternatives such as almond milk or coconut milk. Here is a website devoted to a vegan keto diet: http://meatfreeketo.com/
Hope this helps!
