Hi there-great question. The answer to this is: it depends on your goals. For my clients who have reached their weightloss goals, I have them turn to more of a paleo diet (which would give you the fruits outside of berries.) Some of those clients will return to a Keto diet every few months (eliminating most of the higher carb fruits again) to get into ketosis and have more energy and focus.
If your goal is to get into ketosis, these fruits are not going to be something to consume after only two weeks on a Keto diet. If you are wanting to add in fruit to maintain weight or for a general balanced diet, some fruit should be ok.

Stay away from bananasa and pineapples and mangos, they’re way to high in carbs

Berries (as you point out) are the best keto fruits as they’re high in vitamins and nutrients and lower in sugars.
A large banana has more than enough carbs to put you over your carb limit for the day.
If you want something sugary, then try making a keto fat bomb.
The best way to use fruits on Keto is to use them to flavor your foods – add a spoonful of diced apples in with some salsa or avocado to use as a side dish. Add a dash of pineapple juice to flavor a curry or stew. Just don’t go overboard.

yeah depends on goals.
I eat fruit now but for the first couple of months of keto I didn’t. My goal was weight loss and decreasing inflammation.
Once I lost about 20 lbs and felt better i slowly added fruits like banana back to my eating diet

I think a lot of the folks have already answered this question quite well.
If you really want to stay in ketosis, then you won’t be able to eat those high-carb and high-sugar fruits like bananas and pineapple. But if you don’t need to lose weight, and just want some of the increased energy levels, then something like a small banana, or one apple, each day won’t hurt too much!
Just test it out and see how you feel!

I find my energy levels on Ketosis are not the greatest as I had expected. I do 20-25 gms of carbs, no fruit, hardly any veggies. I am on maintenance but ‘afraid’ to add back carbs. Do you think if I do add a piece of fruit a day, the carbs will give me more energy?
