Blood sugar
My fasting blood sugar has been elevated since going Keto. I’ve always kept it below 100. Now it is often 110 -120. My carbs are very low, usually under 25. Always under 50. I am female age 56. I exercise daily. I was diagnosed as prediabetic but since I have been on a ketogenic diet for over a year now my a1c is normal, usually around 5.4.

I’m curious about this, too. I’m not diabetic, and yet my blood sugar has been higher than normal, often over 100, since doing the keto diet.

A couple of things come to mind based on my experience. 1) Drastically lower your protein to 40g/day for a few days 2) last thing you eat before you quit eating for the day should be something like nut butter in a stalk of celery, then don’t eat for at least 13 hours. See how that works.

- Thank you I will definitely give this a try. I also began fasting for 36 hrs once a wk. for 3 wks now. I thought that would help but thus far it has not.
