Yep – this is pretty normal but it’ll pass if you just give it a week or two.  It’s just your body adjusting to burning fat.

Yes. Fatigue and nausea are just some of the symptoms of keto flu. These symptoms are caused by your body being too used to receiving carbohydrates from the food you eat and not being able to change your body’s energy source when you stop eating carbs. Some people explain keto flu as symptoms resulting from withdrawal from carbohydrates. Check this article out to find out more about keto flu and how to cure it.

Drink a glass of chicken broth. It’ll help make you feel better.

Yes it’s normal. It took my wife 2 weeks and took me a month to get over the keto flu. Salt, bone broth, magnesium help out. Good luck and I hope you stay with it. You’ll feel amazing if you do!

It doesn’t have to be part of the process. You can solve it almost immediately by supplementing salt, potassium, and magnesium. The suggestion for broth will help, but it’s more reliable to measure out the amounts.

From the r/keto FAQ. Take with food, especially the potassium.

5000 mg of sodium (salt)
1000 mg of potassium, (recommend glycinate over the other forms the FAQ mentions to prevent stomach discomfort)
300 mg of magnesium (helps sleep too if taken in the evening)
