Adrenal fatigue, low thyroid and Keto
Will you please explain why a ketogenic diet may exacerbate symptoms of low thyroid and adrenal fatigue? Are there modifications that can be made to offset this?

Hi Deborah!
My family and I have actually found the opposite to be true. Keto has been a way to combat feeling that slump and fatigue. My husband has undiagnosed adrenal fatigue and the keto diet has helped him so far! It is not an overnight cure but we definitely notice a difference in his levels on keto vs non-keto food days.
I think one thing that might lead to believe this could be a problem with those that have chronic fatigue is when someone goes too low carb or restricts calories. For my husband he needs to keep his carbs around 50 net carbs per day instead of the 20-30 I do. He also works a physical job. I do notice that he does better with higher quality carbs but still keeping the number down to stay keto.
Good luck!
